The Green River in Utah is a world class fishery that should be on your fly fishing bucket list. Late April is supposed to have great seasonal Blue Wing Olive and Big Ant hatches. The Green River fishes as well as any other river in the lower 48 states in April. Being a tailwater fishery, they do not get the muddy snow runoff which so many other rivers are susceptible to. Whatever your preferred method of fly fishing may be, April on the Green River provides some of the best fly fishing anywhere. With remarkable hatches, high catch rates, and the chance to stalk individual rising fish, fly fishing on Utah‘s Green River in April is truly special. Our guides specialize in dry flies or a dry dropper, drifting mostly on section A and B of the Green River with 5wt or 6wt rods with floating line. Sign-ups are on a first come basis and payment secures your spot.
Fishing
This is a 3-day trip with guided drift boats on the Green River in Utah. Three boats (accommodating six anglers) have been reserved with On the Fly Utah. Two anglers to a boat.
For this trip, registration is through Elan Vlacich only. Contact Alan for payment - avlacich@gmail.com

David Ladensohn - Fly Fishing with Leonardo
We will once again be staying at the Soaring Eagle Lodge, the premiere facility on this fabled tailwater. Trout 16” + are the norm, with serious opportunity to bring to hand a 20”+ bruiser (fact is that PCC guests each year catch rainbows in excess of 20”, with several being 24” – 25” bows.)

Hot Creek Ranch Trip - June 12 - 15, 2026

The ranch is usually booked solid year around and PCC is fortunate to have a long weekend allocated to us every year. The ranch is dedicated to dry fly fishing, but the ranch manager (Kevin) often allows subsurface fishing depending on the water conditions. The ranch also has a small fly shop in the office.
Fishing rules are:
• Catch and Release only
• Dry Fly Fishing unless ranch manager concession – based on water conditions
• No wading in the creek
• Barbless hooks only
• CA Fishing License required
• No pets
The individual cost this year is approximate $575 for a member.
Due to the popularity of the trip, PCC will have a drawing for spots. If you are interested in going, please respond back to this email and indicate that you would like your name to be placed in the drawing. It is necessary include the following in your email for the drawing.
