Japanese Tenkara Fishing Clinic Sunday, November 12 @ 9:00AM – 12:00PM PCC Casting Pool
Tenkara fly fishing is a very simple and efficient method of catching fish that has been used for hundreds of years by commercial and recreational fishers in mountainous parts of Japan. Tenkara fishing is based upon tenkara-style fly manipulation. This free, three-hour clinic will include about an hour of presentation and discussion of the pros and cons of the basics of rods, lines, and flies, followed by two hours of hands on casting and fly manipulation. It has a focus on Japanese tenkara fishing. It is open to everyone.
Taught by Luong Tam, owner of Tenkara Tanuki, and Chris Leonard, PCC member and Eastern Sierra fly fishing guide, this free Tenkara fishing clinic includes casting lessons and discussion about fly selection, rigging, technique, and tactics while actually fishing with Tenkara rods! Chris and Luong will bring a variety of different lengths and models of Tenkara rods for casters to play with. This clinic is open to everyone - including attendees of the tenkara clinic last month. All ability levels will be addressed from beginner to expert. Space is limited so please register today!
