You will learn the step by step process of building your own fly rod. By the end of the class, you will have an almost completed fly rod which you keep, along with the other tools and supplies. The best way to learn to build a fly rod is by actually building it in class.

This class includes everything needed to build a fly rod: a fly rod kit, which includes: 2 piece 9ft 5wt. fly blank, rod seat, cork handle, winding check, hook keeper, stripping guides, regular guides, tip top, thread, epoxy and finish. Also included is a wrapping jig, drying station, burnishing tool, white china marker, scissors and masking tape.

Cost: $130

Class limit is 6 Students

Instructor: Chiaki Harami has taught rod building classes for 10 years to over 150 students at fly clubs and the SWC Mammoth Fly Fishing Faire.

Note: Please bring a 10 ft. or longer tape measure to class. If you wish to stay after class and continue building your fly rod, I will assist you until 5 pm each day. The cost of the class is for reimbursement for the materials and supplies.
