FFI CI (Casting Instructor) Certification Class Starting on September 6!
The process of becoming a Certified Casting Instructor through Fly Fishers International is a long and arduous journey, but it’s also enjoyable and extremely rewarding. If you are interested in pursuing your CI certification, we have a new class starting on Friday, September 6, at the Pasadena Casting Club.
This class will consist of approximately ten months of weekly casting and teaching sessions, with significant practice on your own expected between classes. This is not a class on how to improve your casting; this is a class for fly casters who are serious about pursuing their CI certification.
Unlike in the past, there will be a cost involved. This decision was reached because class members are far more likely to participate if they have already made a financial commitment to being there.
Former and current members of the CI class are of course welcome and will be continuing their journey while assisting the new students.
The class will be overseen by FFI Southwest Council Casting Director
Jody Martin, with help from other local CIs, MCIs, and CI students. The first class will be on
Friday morning, September 6, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am,
in the PCC clubhouse, with subsequent classes held either at the PCC pool or on the grass fields adjacent to the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center. For more information, contact
