FALL BITE 2024

October 17-20 at Convict Lake

Fall is a great time to visit the eastern Sierra.  Cooler temps, more oxygen in the water, trout are feeding heavily to prepare winter for spawning, fewer visitors, and fall foliage that is arguably the most spectacular in the State.

PCC is again sponsoring a Club trip for 3 nights October 17-20, 2024 for twelve anglers at Mt Morrison House at the Convict Lake Resort, a six-bedroom lodge with full kitchen, BBQ deck with hot tub.  It is a short walk from the Lake and centrally located to numerous and excellent trout waters. The Lodge is comfortable for sharing meals, socializing and sleeping.

We welcome new members and less-experienced anglers seeking to learn how and where to fish the eastern Sierra.

The hike around the Convict Lake is beautiful under the changing Aspens and Cottonwoods, and you can cast dry flies at sunset to trout rising on the lake, then soak in the hot tub under the stars. Convict Lake is a 15-minute drive from Mammoth Lakes and 30 minutes from Bishop.

There will be a hot supper waiting for you on Thursday night when you arrive.  Each morning there will be coffee, Irish oatmeal with add-ins, assorted Schat's breads for toast; you can also bring other items to prepare breakfast. Beverages and other food are BYO. Friday diner will be a potluck.  On Saturday, some folks have a splurge dinner at the Restaurant at Convict Lake, one of the best fine dining restaurants in the region.
